This unique 5-bedroom modern houseboat is available in one of the most upscale residential areas of Amsterdam. The moment you step aboard, you’ll feel it... and simply won't want to leave. The upstairs of the boat features a spacious living room with seamless light flooring and a functional wood-burning fireplace. The open-plan kitchen is equipped with all the necessary appliances, including a dishwasher, fridge, freezer, electric stove, and combi oven/microwave.
Additionally, there is a bedroom/office on the upper floor overlooking the Amstel River. The big glass facade, facing south towards the river, extends from left to right, flooding the space with natural light.
Through the sliding doors, you step onto a large wooden veranda/dock complete with a lounge corner, picnic table, and outdoor shower, perfect for relaxing by the water. The swimming ladder provides access to the Amstel River.
The lower level features a fantastic children’s bedroom with a built-in double bunk bed, Chalet-style, perfect for toddlers and sleepovers. The bathroom is equipped with a double-headed walk-in shower, a double Jacuzzi, and sink.
Adjacent to the bathroom, you'll find the master bedroom with ample built-in wardrobe space. Towards the rear of the houseboat, there are two additional bedrooms, each with their own staircase leading to the split-level above, complete with cozy lookout rooms.
If you frequently host guests or have older children in your family, this layout offers the ultimate freedom as these bedroom/studios with bathrooms have their own entrances. Throughout the entire boat, both upstairs and downstairs, there is floor heating to keep you comfortable. Additionally, for exceptionally warm summers, there is air conditioning upstairs. Downstairs, the temperature remains a steady 19 – 20 degrees.
Aside from a picturesque setting, the houseboat is surrounded by local amenities, including charming cafes, shops, and restaurants, all within easy reach. Situated on the vibrant east side of the city center, alongside the scenic Amstel river, it embodies the green and sunny ambiance typical of this area, with its classic-style buildings. The location is favored by joggers and is close to popular pubs like the IJsbreker and café Hesp.
Logistically, the houseboat enjoys an ideal location for accessing all parts of Amsterdam quickly, whether by car (via Wibautstraat and the A10 to the Zuidas), by metro (just a 3-minute walk from the boat), by tram (a 5-minute walk away), or by bike. Also, Amstel Station is conveniently situated just an 8-minute walk from the boat, making the rest of the Netherlands easily accessible by train. Parking in front of the boat is possible, and permits are available.
