The location:
Cornelis Zillesenlaan is situated on Steigereiland Zuid. This island is considered the prettiest part of IJburg due to the eclectic mix of architectural design. Steigereiland is not far from the A10 motorway (exit S114). Tram 26 takes you to Amsterdam Central Station within twelve minutes. Steiger is the Dutch word for jetty; a fitting name as there are lots swimming, boating and skating jetties. The large Diemerpark is within walking distance and has a child-friendly beach. The park is also home to a hockey and soccer club. Steigereiland Zuid has its own primary school, a variety of shops and Vrijburcht, a theatre and bar along the water's edge, where you can enjoy concerts, plays and movies.
